Metro South Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse to join the Medical and Assessment Planning Unit (MAPU) at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Are you an experienced nurse with a passion for acute medical and cardiac care, clinical leadership and delivering exceptional patient outcomes?
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership and coordination of patient care while supporting the professional development of colleagues and contributing to safe, effective and evidence-based nursing practice.
About you:
We are looking for a confident and collaborative nursing professional who brings:
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in acute medical and cardiac nursing, including telemetry monitoring.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) competency.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate patient care, manage competing priorities and support effective patient flow.
- Effective communication, teamwork and clinical leadership skills.
- A commitment to safe, compassionate care, continuous improvement and the development of others.

About us:
MAPU is a 32-bed acute short-stay unit that plays an important role in supporting patient flow and timely care across Princess Alexandra Hospital. Working closely with the Emergency Department, medical and cardiology teams, nursing and allied health professionals, the unit focuses on rapid assessment, treatment, early discharge and ongoing care planning. With 16 cardiac-monitored beds, MAPU offers a diverse and challenging clinical environment caring for patients with complex acute medical and cardiac needs.
