Help shape technology that improves health outcomes for millions of people across NSW. Join NSW Health Pathology as a Technical Solution Architect and play a key role in delivering some of our most significant digital health and laboratory transformation initiatives.
Working across modern cloud, data, integration and application platforms, you'll design secure, scalable and resilient solutions that support areas such as cancer genomics, healthcare interoperability, laboratory automation and digital patient care. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, engineers and delivery partners to translate complex clinical and business requirements into practical architectures and implementation roadmaps.
You'll provide technical leadership across the solution lifecycle, working within contemporary hybrid AWS and Azure environments while ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, security and engineering standards. You'll also help guide technical decision-making within agile delivery teams, manage risks and dependencies, and contribute to the broader technology direction of NSW Health Pathology.
Based in either St Leonards or Newcastle with flexible working options, this is an opportunity to join a highly skilled and collaborative technology team, work on complex and meaningful projects at statewide scale, and deliver solutions that have a genuine impact on patient care, public health and medical research.
What you'll be doing
The Technical Solution Architect guides the solution design and implementation of technology solutions and products, ensuring alignment to organisational standards and best practices.
They are responsible for sprint delivery and day to day management of allocated sprint resources, including leading sprint showcases with program management staff.

Interested in joining Australia's largest public pathology service? Apply now by addressing the following questions: * Experience in Solution Architecture in large and complex environments and/or relevant qualifications.
- Solution Architecture experience and knowledge in the following: architecture patterns in workflow, integration, relational and NoSQL databases, analytical architectures and technologies, API Gateway, mobility, BPM, security technologies; identity and access management solutions; platforms such as Azure, AWS, extending to IoT platforms such as Azure IoT; technologies and architectures including LAN/WAN, converged infrastructure, storage, hardware load balancing and virtualisation.
- Knowledge and experience in applying TOGAF.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from multiple sources.
- Well-developed interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An ability to quickly identify,
digest and apply a variety of relevant industry reference models (such as HL7 2.x and FHIR) to new and existing business solutions.
- Knowledge of, and experience working within, project frameworks and methodologies, such as PRINCE2 and PMBOK.
- Full stack software development skills and experience, such as TypeScript, Java, MuleSoft and the Microsoft Power Platform
