A great opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Townsville, Queensland.

The Trades Assistant is responsible for the assistance of maintenance activities including tyre fitting on a vast range of exciting Defence vehicles and assets.

About the role

- Helping trades personnel with all types of work in the workshop.
- Assisting in maintenance and storeroom tasks.
- Maintaining the work area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Operating plant and equipment where qualified and licensed to do so.

About you

- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence and be able to operate a manual vehicle.
- Be reliable, self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Tyre fitting experience (highly desirable).




- Hold a current High Risk Work Licence for forklift operation (highly desirable).
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (highly desirable).

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
