Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Bedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan Christian Education Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, and this belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in our curriculum and all that we do.
We are seeking a competent and passionate Dean of Academics who can teach Secondary Science to join our team in a full-time, permanent position commencing 1 January 2027.
The Dean of Academics oversees the Learning Areas for Science and Mathematics while having a teaching component in Secondary Science.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead curriculum excellence, teaching practice, and assessment standards to drive outstanding student outcomes.
- Develop, mentor, and inspire staff while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Lead the effective management of resources, budgets, and workplace safety to support College success.
- Deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences that support the diverse needs and success of every student.
- Actively contribute to the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural, and social life of the College community.
- Model Christian values and professional excellence through ongoing learning, growth and adherence to College policies.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
- Qualified Secondary Teacher with a strong understanding of contemporary teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation practices.
- Skilled in differentiating instruction and leveraging technology to meet diverse student needs and enhance learning and administrative outcomes.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills across students, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Committed to professional excellence, positive role modelling and active participation in the life of the College.
- Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to apply.
Desirable Selection Criteria:

- To have undertaken formal studies in the area of Christian Education, attend a Christian College or be familiar with relevant books and articles on Christian Education.
- To have experience in the advertised position.
- To have experience in using a digital learning management system as a teaching and learning tool.
