Working on the delivery of the new Coomera Hospital, you'll have the opportunity to become a key member of the Project Leadership Team, leading the design strategy and delivery for one of Queensland's largest and most significant healthcare infrastructure projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring design outcomes support safe,
innovative and efficient project delivery while balancing client requirements, programme objectives and commercial outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent position based on site in Coomera.
As a Senior Design Manager within Multiplex, you will be responsible for leading and managing all design aspects of the project from development through to construction and completion. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee design consultants, drive design management processes, coordinate key stakeholders and ensure project requirements are successfully delivered. You will work closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and construction teams to manage risk, maintain programme alignment and deliver the highest standards of quality and compliance.
This role requires a highly capable design leader who can influence across multiple disciplines, drive collaboration and mentor team members while maintaining a strong focus on project performance and successful project outcomes.
The successful candidate will need:
- A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience within construction, design, engineering, development or asset management environments,
with a proven track record delivering large and complex projects.
- Strong experience leading design teams through all phases of project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary consultants, stakeholders and project interfaces.
- Sound understanding of design management, construction methodology, procurement and project delivery processes.
- Experience managing value management initiatives, design changes, risk mitigation and design compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of the NCC, BCA and applicable statutory regulations.
- Highly developed commercial acumen and the ability to balance programme, cost, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Proven leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, consultants and delivery teams.
