About the Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Executive Director of the Underwood Institute for Education. This is a unique opportunity to lead a University-wide institute dedicated to improving educational attainment, success and prospect across Tasmania.
In this role, you will provide leadership across teaching, research, policy engagement and partnerships, advancing the University's Education Transition and broader strategic priorities. Working closely with government, schools, industry, communities and colleagues across the University, you will help shape policy and practice, strengthen educational outcomes and drive system-wide impact.
This role will see you lead initiatives that prepare the future teaching workforce, translate research into practice, and foster collaboration across Tasmania's education ecosystem. Through strong leadership and partnership, you will help create meaningful and lasting opportunities for learners, communities and in Tasmania and beyond.

You will bring strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of educational success and student outcomes, and the ability to build effective partnerships across government, education, industry and community sectors.
With expertise in governance, strategy and organisational leadership, you will be confident leading multidisciplinary teams, managing resources effectively, and identifying opportunities that create lasting impact for learners and communities across Tasmania.
