About Decoda
Decoda, as part of Sime Industrial, works with mining companies to transform the way they
use digital technologies. Our business helps our customers get more productivity from their
mining equipment, using technology and data generated from connected machines. Decoda
has an aspiration to build solutions for productivity improvement across the whole mining
life cycle - from mine planning, production and through to mine rehabilitation.
If the prospect of creating world-class integrated solutions to these challenges is appealing,
we at Decoda welcome your application.
About the role
The successful applicant will join a small team of engineers building an integrated sensor
platform that utilises LiDAR, camera, GNSS, and IMU sensors to support autonomous and
semi-autonomous decision-making for mine processes and provide reliable and actionable
insights to clients. The team is focused on enhancing machine reliability and productivity
through real-time monitoring and communication of site conditions and hazards.
The platform demands robust design at both the hardware and software level, secure communication
between a range of devices on local and wide-area networks, and reliable and
efficient interpretation of sensor data.
What you’ll do
- Drive continual, user-driven improvement and expansion of the platform’s infrastructure,
- design and feature set under the Iterative-V governance model.
- Use engineering tools, resources, and processes effectively to develop, document, and
