(REGULAR PART TIME)
n
One (1) regular part time Housekeeping Aide position is available within the Support Services Department at Palmerston and District Hospital.
n
This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.
n
REQUIREMENTS:
n
n
Housekeeping experience in hospital setting or similar is required
n
Housekeeping Certificate for Healthcare setting an asset
n
Ability to receive written and verbal instructions concerning job routines, operation of equipment and safety precautions
n
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
n
Familiarity with computer processes of email, intranet, word and excel a advantage
n
Familiarity with Hospital Waste protocols and standards
n
Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
n
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
n
Ability to work with minimal supervision
n
Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control procedures in a health care setting
n
Ability to carry out the physical aspects inherent in this position (see working conditions below).
n




Satisfactory performance and attendance required
n
Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
n
Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
n
Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
n

WORKING CONDITIONS:
n
Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, periodic climbing which include ladders, operation of floor machines and other equipment
n
HOURS OF WORK:

Day, evening and weekend shifts as per department schedule
n
As per Collective Agreement
