You will lead the intelligence layer that sits at the centre of the business and shapes how we buy, allocate, ship and trade. The intelligence layer is the set of data, models, agents and decision processes that runs merchandise for the business. You will design it, build it and own its performance. You do not need a background in fashion. You need exceptional analytical ability, real fluency with AI and modern data tooling, and the communication skills to make the people around you trust and act on what the system tells them.

Key responsibilities

Build and lead the data science and AI capability that drives merchandise decisions across Edikted Australia

Identify winning styles, colours and sizes early, turning customer demand into timely buying and replenishment decisions

Develop forecasting and optimisation models that put investment behind the right products while managing stock risk, margin and cash

Translate commercial objectives into sales, inventory and profit forecasts, keeping buying budgets and purchase commitments clearly visible

Get the right stock into the right channels and stores, adapting allocations as demand changes and developing opening stock plans for new stores

Improve commercial returns through smarter freight, fulfilment, stock transfers, promotions and markdown decisions

Build reliable data pipelines across existing systems, creating a trusted view of product and business performance

Deploy AI agents and automated workflows that monitor trade, flag opportunities and recommend actions, with clear checks and accountability

Turn reporting into action through live dashboards, timely alerts and clear commercial recommendations

Take recommendations through to execution, working closely with Buying, Finance, Retail Operations, E-commerce and suppliers





Measure the commercial impact of decisions and continually improve the models and processes behind them

Coach junior analysts and build confidence across the business in using data and AI to make better decisions

About you

At least eight years’ experience in data science, quantitative analysis or a similar field, with a track record of turning complex analysis into commercial results

Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability and appetite to build models, pipelines and automation yourself

Practical experience in forecasting, optimisation or making decisions within real commercial and operational constraints

Strong statistical judgement, with the ability to spot meaningful signals in limited or noisy data and make sound decisions under uncertainty

An established way of working with AI coding tools and agents, backed by examples of automation you have built, validated and put into practice

Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how decisions affect sales, gross margin, inventory productivity and cash

The ability to explain complex ideas clearly, influence stakeholders and turn technical recommendations into actions people understand and trust

A builder’s mindset, with the initiative to challenge manual processes and create better ways of working

A hands-on, accountable approach, following decisions through and taking ownership of the results
