This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027 Alkimos College is seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic teacher of Health and Physical Education (HPE). Located in the northern suburb of Alkimos with sweeping ocean views, Alkimos College opened in 2020 with our foundation Year 7 cohort, providing local intake area students with access to an exceptional secondary education in world-class learning facilities. Each year we have added an additional cohort and reached our full complement of Years 7 to 12 in 2025. Stage 1 buildings include administration, lower school student services, library, gymnasium, fitness centre, food studios, cafeteria, Information Technology (IT) labs, technologies workshops, general classrooms, science laboratories, and nature play area. Shared oval and community facilities with the City of Wanneroo are available via the adjacent Halesworth Park precinct. Stage 2 (rolled out in 2024), included a performing arts centre, lecture theatre, senior school student services centre, general classrooms, hospitality centre and STEM classroom. The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate teacher of HPE, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should use professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary HPE curriculum. The successful applicant will ideally be an enthusiastic adopter of a college wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies and tactics. They will ideally be committed to personal and professional growth and will embrace opportunities for collaboration. Ideally, the desired applicant should possess the ability to develop innovative classroom practices and utilise Information Communication Technology to provide integrated,
personalised and authentic learning experiences for students. A key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs.
