Lead the People & Culture function for an established WA mining services business.

SMS Mining Services is seeking a commercially astute General Manager - People & Culture to lead our P&C; function and partner with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team to deliver a people and workforce strategy that underpins our operational and commercial performance. It is a broad role, balancing enterprise-level strategy with close operational engagement across ER/IR, workforce planning, talent, culture and capability.

About the Role

Key accountabilities include:

- Setting and delivering the People & Culture strategy and broader workforce agenda.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, coaching and challenging leaders to build accountable people leadership.
- Leading employee and industrial relations strategy, including complex case management and industrial risk.
- Overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, mobilisation and onboarding.
- Ensuring robust governance, reporting and compliance across employment, immigration and key people risks.
- Driving remuneration, engagement, culture and organisational capability initiatives.
- Leading and developing a high-performing P&C; team.

About You

You are an accomplished and pragmatic P&C; leader with the confidence to influence at executive level while staying close enough to the operation to understand what the business and its people need.

You will bring:

- Significant senior HR/P&C; leadership experience, ideally within mining, resources or another operationally intensive environment.
- Deep employee and industrial relations expertise.




- Demonstrated experience advising, influencing and coaching senior leaders, with excellent stakeholder and communication skills.
- Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Experience across workforce planning, talent, remuneration, culture and employment compliance.
- Experience with immigration and visa management will be highly regarded.
