7R Logistics is seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis in Gympie, QLD 4570. This is a hands‑on position that is critical to maintaining the safety, reliability and operational efficiency of our commercial vehicle fleet. As a Truck Mechanic, you will play an essential role in ensuring our vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with all regulatory requirements, directly supporting the success of our logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy commercial vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and lubrication

Diagnose mechanical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge

Repair and replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and electrical systems

Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all maintenance and repair work completed

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

Liaise with drivers and operational staff to understand vehicle issues and communicate repair timelines

Perform welding and fabrication work as required for vehicle repairs and modifications

Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

What we’re looking for

A recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification

Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a mechanic, preferably with heavy commercial vehicles or trucks





Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems and suspension

Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools

Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and workplace safety procedures

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

A valid Australian driver’s licence is essential

Physical fitness and ability to work in a hands‑on workplace, including working at heights and in confined spaces

Preferably, experience with fleet maintenance or working in a logistics environment
