MartinusDegnan JV is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of our growing station portfolio across Southeast Queensland.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a quick-paced environment and wants to play a pivotal role in delivering some of Brisbane’s key transport hubs.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial and cost management expertise across our station portfolio. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and the broader commercial function to manage costs, contracts and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading quantity surveying and commercial activities across allocated station projects.
- Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Preparing, assessing and negotiating variations, claims and commercial settlements.
- Supporting procurement, subcontract management and commercial negotiations.
- Reviewing subcontractor progress claims, variations and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring project performance against budgets, forecasts and commercial targets.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Providing accurate and timely commercial reporting to project leadership.
- Supporting contract administration and ensuring contractual obligations are understood and managed.
- Building strong working relationships with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Mentoring and supporting junior quantity surveyors and commercial team members.
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in major infrastructure, rail, transport, civil construction or complex building projects.
You will Bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior commercial or quantity surveying role.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and cost control.
- Experience managing variations, claims, forecasting and subcontractor commercial matters.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial acumen.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commerce or a related discipline.
Experience working on rail stations or major transport infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
