We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Educator to join our team at Bright Minds Academy WATERSIDE. This is a full time position where you will take a leadership role in delivering high-quality childcare and education services. As Lead Educator, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging learning experiences, supporting the development of children in your care, and leading a team to ensure the highest standards of duty of care. This is a strategic position that directly impacts the quality of our service delivery and the wellbeing of the children and families we serve.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and mentor educators and support staff within your designated service area
- Plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate learning experiences and activities based on the National Quality Framework and relevant curriculum guidelines
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development
- Build positive relationships with children and families, and provide regular communication about children's progress and wellbeing
- Monitor children's development and adjust educational practices to meet individual learning needs and abilities
- Ensure compliance with duty of care responsibilities, safety protocols, hygiene standards and relevant legislation
- Conduct observations and documentation of children's learning and development to inform ongoing practice
- Support and guide educators in implementing best practice approaches to early childhood education and care
- Participate in staff training and professional development activities
- Work collaboratively with educators, families and other professionals to support children's wellbeing and learning
- Assist with daily operational tasks including inventory management, scheduling and communication with families
What we're looking for
- Current Early Childhood Teacher qualifications or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an early childhood education and care setting
- Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and commitment to quality improvement
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Sound knowledge of child development and evidence-based educational practices
- Passion for creating inclusive, supportive and stimulating learning environments
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Problem-solving abilities and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with children in the outside school hours care sector is highly desirable
