Operations Lead - Eating Disorder Recovery Support Service
endED provides psychosocial support services to empower recovery for people with eating disorders. We offer group programs for individuals and families, individual care navigation, short-term independent living accommodation, and programs that connect with the wider community. Our approach is grounded in lived experience and centred on recovery through community. We are currently developing new models of recovery support through the Nurture Community Village.
About the role
The Operations Lead manages the day-to-day operation, growth and sustainability of endED services, including House of Hope and Nurture Community Village. You'll make sure our services remain safe, person-centred and recovery focused. Reporting to the Founder& Director, you'll work closely with the Senior Care Navigator, the endED team, board members, volunteers, funders and external stakeholders.
Position Objectives
To ensure efficient, safe and effective operations of endED services.
To provide heart-led, collaborative leadership that values collective discernment, shared wisdom and fostersgenuine connection within the team.
To support participant recovery journeys through the delivery of integrated person-centred care.
To enable sustained delivery of quality services through funding strategies, staff support, and risk management.
To position endED for development in response to emerging evidence, funding opportunities and changing participant needs.
Key responsibilities
Efficient Service Operations
Oversee day-to-day operations of endED services including House of Hope and Nurture Community Village and the integration of these services and programs to support eating disorder recovery.
Oversee quality and participant safety, initiating and supporting development and review of service agreements, participant information, policies and procedures.
Oversee House of Hope and Nurture Community Village facilities, including maintenance, contractors, safety requirements and site improvements.
Monitor service utilisation and operational needs to effectively lead projects and develop new systems as required.
Lead and support each service facilitator (Counsellor, Group Facilitators, and Care Navigators) with a heart-led relational approach.
Work closely with the wider team to coordinate operational priorities and maintain effective communication pathways across the organisation.
Chair weekly team meetings, case conferencing and reflective practice, creating space for thoughtful discussion.
Coordinate team training and team days that foster a positive, values-based culture.
Lead recruitment, interviews, onboarding and inductions with the support of the Board and other key stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with the Care Navigator Lead and endED team to ensure participants are connected with appropriate internal and external supports
Oversee participant agreements, tenancy management and resident onboarding for Nurture Community Village, including Village proceduresthat progress participants to alternative accommodation.
Build and maintain relationships with referring agencies to support smooth transitions between servicesand support thecontinuum of care.
Monitor participant flow and coordinate group facilitation when core facilitators are on leave.
Governance, quality and compliance
Maintain policies, procedures and quality systems.
Organise and support accreditation, audits and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure compliance with legislative, funding, privacy and WHS requirements.
Oversee risk management, identify emerging risks, manage incident reporting, risk registers and improvement actions.
Develop and implement an evaluation framework, including facilitating data collection that supports governance decision making, quality and fund raising.
Funding and stakeholders
Manage Queensland Health funding, budgets and reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities for funding and support grant applications and funder reporting.
Oversee contracts, service agreements, partnerships and MOUs.
Build and maintain relationships with health professionals, government, community organisations and funders and represent endED externally.
Contribute to planning for future growth and sustainability.
About you
Commitment to a relational and cooperative approach to leadership and service delivery with demonstrated competence in team facilitation,
collaborative problem solving, and empowering others.
Experience with, or openness to learning about, lived-experience frameworks and how they can guide co-design practices within an organisation.
Strong experience in operations, program management or service coordination in community services, health or not-for-profit sectors.
Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, organisational and project management skills.
Experience working within quality, compliance and governance frameworks.
Ability to work within professional, ethical and recovery-oriented practice frameworks, including maintaining appropriate boundaries, confidentiality and alignment with NEDC Practice Standards.
Confidence using Microsoft platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated experience with practice management and client record systems (e.g. Splose, Halaxy).
Current Queensland Driver Licence, Blue Card and National Police Check
Lived experience of eating disorder recovery or of supporting someone through an eating disorder, disordered eating, or other mental health conditions (minimum three years recovered).
Experience in not-for-profit, community health, mental health or lived experience sectors.
Experience with accreditation, quality standards or government-funded services.
Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and community sector operations.
Mental Health First Aid, Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, EDQ Mentor Training or CCI Eating Disorder Coaching, or a willingness to undertake relevant professional development.
