The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 will be the biggest cricket world cup ever staged in the southern hemisphere — and this is your chance to be part of it.

Co‑hosted by Australia and New Zealand and operated by a Local Organising Committee (LOC), the tournament will bring together the world’s best teams and players, billions of fans and two nations passionate about delivering unforgettable global events. Across October and November 2028, cricket’s fastest and most exciting format will take centre stage on a truly global platform.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re building the team that will bring the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 to life and we’re looking for a Finance Operations Manager to establish and lead the transactional finance function across our Australian and New Zealand operations. This is a unique opportunity to create practical, scalable processes, lead a high‑performing finance operations team and deliver an efficient, reliable service for one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

You’ll oversee the full Procure-to-Pay cycle, including supplier onboarding, Accounts Payable, payment processing, bank receipting and credit card expenses. By partnering closely with teams across the LOC,



you’ll simplify how people purchase, approve and pay, strengthen supplier relationships and keep transactions accurate, timely and compliant.

A key focus will be implementing and continually improving the LOC’s Procure-to-Pay system, using technology and automation to increase efficiency, visibility and control. You’ll establish robust safeguards, support audit and compliance requirements across Australia and New Zealand, and lead a capable Finance team committed to responsive service and continuous improvement.

Based in Australia or New Zealand, this is a maximum term opportunity until February 2029.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or Master’s) in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline and CPA / CA qualified

Strong understanding of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay processes, including purchasing, approval and payment workflows.

Knowledge of procurement controls and delegated authority frameworks.

Extensive experience managing Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, payment cycles, creditor reconciliations and period-end activities.

Strong ERP and finance systems knowledge, with the ability to identify and implement automation opportunities.

Experience establishing supplier onboarding and governance processes, including master data controls and fraud prevention measures.

Ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve escalated issues.





Experience managing payment runs and banking platforms, with a strong understanding of payment controls, banking administration and fraud prevention.

Experience with bank reconciliations and cash receipt processes.

Strong understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties, with experience supporting internal and external audits.

Ability to identify and mitigate operational and financial risks.

Ability to travel in and between Australia and New Zealand as required.

Experience leading operational finance teams, managing performance and service delivery, and coaching and developing staff.

Experience in major events, sport, or project-based environments

Exposure to international financial operations, including foreign currency and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.

Experience in Xero and related P2P applications
