Job Description

The Opportunity

PLC Perth invites applications from enthusiastic candidates for the position of Visual Arts Teacher. This part-time @ 0.6 FTE role will contribute to the Creative Arts Department teaching across years 7-12 developing and implementing creative learning experiences for students aligned with SCSA WA Arts Curriculum requirements. It will also promote the incorporation of technology into Art and Design and assist facilitate student Exhibitions and various displays.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver engaging and inspiring visual arts lesson plans and experiences for students years 7-12, aligned with SCSA requirements.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of visual arts materials, techniques, processes and equipment, including the incorporation of technology as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Creative Arts colleagues to develop, implement and continually refine and assess course delivery, content, skills and concepts.
- Conduct student assessments and provide constructive and appropriate feedback.
- Facilitate and manage various Exhibitions and displays.
- Attend parent/teacher interviews providing appropriate information and feedback.




- Undertake co-curricular activities in line with College policy and requirements.
- Provide student pastoral care and support as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Eligibility for TRBWA registration and the right to work in Australia
- Demonstrated passion for teaching visual arts subjects across all year groups 7-12 and solid knowledge of the SCSA curriculum.
- Experience teaching Visual Arts ATAR would be advantageous
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a creative, committed and focussed team.
- Strong practical knowledge of the diverse range of visual arts processes, materials and equipment and the ability to develop and deliver inspiring lesson plans and apply contemporary pedagogical techniques.
- Able to develop and deliver teaching and learning experiences which provide inclusivity for all students and cater for diverse learning styles and needs.
- Highly developed communication and relationship building skills for liaison with students, staff, families and the wider community.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A commitment to child safety, the values of the College and willingness to adhere to all College policies and procedures.
