The Opportunity

There is now an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and passionate finance manager professional to join our Finance Team in Kew. This is a full time, one year maternity leave replacement role. You will work in a supportive and inclusive team environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Bulleen Campus, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to lead the School's finance operations and support sound financial decision-making across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Bulleen Campus and the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, banking and cash management, school fees administration, and the oversight of key financial processes. The Finance Manager also leads the Finance Team, ensures high-quality service delivery, and contributes to the School's governance through participation in Finance and Risk Committee meetings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative finance professional to play a key role in a dynamic educational environment while supporting the School's strategic and operational objectives.

Some duties you will be involved with but not limited to include:





- The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the School's finance function, ensuring the accurate and effective management of financial operations, reporting, compliance, and governance activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Managing the School's financial operations, including banking and cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxation compliance, and school fee administration.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legislative requirements, internal controls, and financial governance frameworks.
- Coordinating annual budgeting, external audits, government reporting, and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
- Providing leadership, guidance and development opportunities for the Finance Team, fostering a collaborative and service-focused culture.
- Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the School and supporting departments with financial advice, reporting and budget management.
- Contributing to the School's governance through attendance at Finance and Risk Committee meetings and providing high-quality financial insights to senior leadership.
- This role requires a strategic and hands-on finance professional who can balance operational excellence with strong leadership and a commitment to supporting the School's mission and values.





What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced finance professional with a CA or CPA qualification and at least five years' experience in a similar leadership role. You will possess solid financial management and reporting expertise, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to analyse complex financial information to support strategic decision-making.

You will be a collaborative and adaptable leader who can build strong relationships across a diverse school community, while also working independently and exercising sound professional judgement. Experience within the education sector and familiarity with systems such as Synergetic and Micropay will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you will demonstrate a commitment to integrity, service excellence, and the School's values, along with the ability to foster a positive, high-performing and child-safe culture.
