Role Overview

We are seeking a Red Hat Linux Production Support Engineer to support and maintain critical production environments. The role will be responsible for incident and request management, system administration, production monitoring, automation, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have strong Red Hat Linux, High Availability, Ansible, scripting, and production support experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide production support and participate in system changes from a production support perspective.
- Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests through ServiceNow .
- Own and execute major production events, including weekend maintenance and Disaster Recovery (DR) tests .
- Perform system administration activities including installations, upgrades, configuration, patching, tuning, monitoring, and new builds.
- Monitor production applications and systems, and configure and improve monitoring alerts.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a weekly rotating schedule.
- Work closely with senior engineers to drive continuous improvements to production environments and support procedures.
- Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production support documentation.




- Identify recurring production issues and develop best practices and preventative measures.
- Participate in daily production briefings and operational meetings.
- Take ownership of individual technical initiatives and projects aligned with business requirements.
- 5+ years of solid experience supporting Red Enterprise Linux (RHEL) V6-V8 environments.
- Good knowledge of Red High Availability Clustering , including RGManager and Pacemaker .
- Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting .
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower for automation and operations.
- Experience administering Red Satellite and managing servers registered with Satellite.
- Strong production support and troubleshooting experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience with system monitoring, patching, upgrades, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of IT service management and incident/request management processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership of technical initiatives.
- Strong technical aptitude with a willingness to learn recent technologies and processes.
