About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Full-Time Sales Consultant / Retail Manager to join our team at Engadine Music Centre in Engadine, NSW 2233.

This is a varied role that combines customer-facing retail sales with office administration and online and education sales support. As well as working with customers in our retail store, you will assist with school and education orders, online orders, customer enquiries, order processing, stock management and general administration associated with our retail and education business.

Our education customers include schools and education facilities Australia-wide,



so the role provides an opportunity to work across both our retail and business-to-business education operations.

This is a full-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to combine your passion for music with retail, sales and administration skills. You will be the face of our store, driving sales, managing customer relationships and contributing to the overall success of the business. You will play a key part in creating a welcoming environment where customers feel confident and supported in their musical journey, while also ensuring orders and administrative tasks are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional customer service to teachers, schools, musicians and music enthusiasts of all levels, providing expert product knowledge and recommendations

- Drive sales through engaging product demonstrations, identifying customer needs and suggesting appropriate instruments and equipment

- Assist customers in-store, over the phone and via online enquiries

- Process retail transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card payments

- Process and manage online orders from both retail customers and schools/education customers

- Process and coordinate school and education orders, including product enquiries, quotes, order entry, invoicing and fulfilment

- Communicate with schools, teachers and education facilities Australia-wide regarding products, orders, availability and delivery

- Build and maintain positive customer relationships, fostering loyalty and encouraging repeat business

- Provide product information and answer customer enquiries about instruments, accessories and services

- Assist with general office administration and day-to-day business tasks





- Assist with inventory control, stock ordering and stock availability

- Manage store operations including stock management, merchandising and maintaining a clean and organised retail environment

- Assist with receiving, checking, packing and dispatching stock and customer orders

- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues across both the retail and office sides of the business as needed

What we're looking for

- Proven retail, sales or customer service experience

- Strong passion for music and genuine interest in musical instruments and equipment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers, including musicians, parents, teachers and school staff

- Knowledge of musical instruments and/or retail products in the music industry is required

- Strong computer skills and confidence learning recent point-of-sale, e-commerce and business systems

- Good administrative and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy retail and office environment

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work

- Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to help others discover music

- Previous experience in a music retail environment or musical background would be advantageous

- Experience with online sales, order processing, school purchasing or administration would be highly regarded
