The Pharmacy Department at Rockhampton Hospital provides a comprehensive medication management service to inpatients, outpatients and day-admitted patients across the Hospital and Health Service. The service focuses on ensuring medications are supplied safely and appropriately, while supporting patients to understand and manage their medicines effectively. This includes dispensing prescriptions for outpatients, supplying medications to inpatients, conducting medication histories and reviewing medication charts to ensure accurate and appropriate treatment.

The Pharmacy Department also provides medication and drug information to healthcare professionals, offers therapeutic drug monitoring, and supports the education and training of healthcare staff and students. Overall, the service plays an important role in promoting the protected, effective and appropriate use of medicines throughout the patient’s care.

About the role:

- Work across differentPharmacy units andmultidisciplinary teamson a rotational basis throughout Central QueenslandHospital and HealthService.




- Undertake a supported, accreditedtwo-year PharmacistResidency Programdesigned to developearly-career hospitalpharmacists.
- Complete the mandatoryrequirements of theAdvanced Pharmacy Australia(AdPhA) Foundation ResidencyProgramwith support fromthe Pharmacy Department.
- Gain hands-on, practice-based experienceand demonstrate progressthrough a professionalportfolio, developing competencetowardsStage 1 (TransitionLevel)of the AustralianAdvanced Pharmacy PracticeFramework.
- Build a strongfoundation for furtherprofessional developmentand progression intoadvanced pharmacy practiceand other careerpathways.

About you:

- A tertiary Pharmacydegree (or equivalent) and current AHPRAregistration as apharmacist, or eligibilityfor registration inAustralia.
- Demonstrated knowledge,expertise and practicalskills in pharmacypractice appropriate totheir level ofexperience.
- Ability to workeffectively within amultidisciplinary team,contribute positively andadapt to changesin the workplace.
- Strong communication andinterpersonal skills whenworking with patients, families and healthcareprofessionals, with theability to supportand educate studentsand less experiencedstaff.
- Ability to contributeto service improvement, plan and evaluateinitiatives, and developclinical supervision skillsfor supporting otherstaff.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
