The opportunity

Reporting to the pre-contracts manager, you will lead civil estimating across a growing pipeline of road, earthworks, pavement and broader transport infrastructure opportunities.

The pipeline includes major civil packages and collaborative pursuits with joint venture partners, with some opportunities valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

You will bring technical depth to first principles estimates, review assumptions and risk,



and clearly explain the commercial thinking behind each submission.

You will also help develop the people, systems and working practices that support a strong estimating function.

For the right person, there is a genuine longer term pathway into broader pre-contracts leadership.

What you will bring

You will have substantial civil estimating experience gained with a major contractor, ideally across roadworks, earthworks, pavements and complex transport projects.

Experience in a Tier One or established Tier Two environment, including collaborative tenders or joint ventures, will be particularly relevant.

You will be comfortable building and reviewing first principles estimates in detail, leading tender reviews and working with senior leaders, clients and delivery partners.

Experience with Expert Estimation is useful, although strong experience with a comparable platform is equally welcome.

Just as importantly, you will bring sound judgement, integrity and the ability to develop a team that communicates clearly and takes ownership of its work.

This is a permanent Brisbane based role with competitive remuneration aligned to your experience.

A vehicle may be considered as part of the package, and relocation support is available for the interstate candidates.

The role is currently based on Brisbane’s northside, with plans to move the office closer to the city.

It is primarily an office based leadership position, with a practical approach to flexibility around personal commitments.

You will work closely with an experienced Pre-contracts Manager and leadership team with the prospect to make a visible contribution to JF Hull’s growth.
