Collins Executive Recruitment
Melbourne
At Associate or early Vice President level, the question is no longer whether you can execute. It is whether your current platform is giving you enough room to become an adviser.
One of Australia’s most highly regarded independent corporate advisory firms is appointing an experienced Associate II/III or early-stage Vice President. The firm advises founders, boards, private equity sponsors, family offices, entrepreneurs and leading corporates on complex M&A;, capital raisings and strategic transactions.
The team is senior-led and hands-on. You will be expected to move beyond execution support and take a visible role with clients, junior bankers and the decisions that shape a transaction.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Manage key workstreams across M&A;, capital raisings, strategic advisory and corporate finance mandates.
- Build, review and oversee financial models, valuation work, scenario analysis and transaction structuring.
- Prepare and review pitch books, information memoranda, board papers, management presentations and transaction documentation.
- Coordinate due diligence, transaction timetables and advisers, identifying issues early and keeping the process moving.
- Work directly with clients and senior bankers in meetings,
transaction strategy and communication throughout a mandate.
- Supervise Analysts and junior Associates, improve their work and help develop their technical and commercial judgement.
- Contribute to market mapping, sector research, strategic ideas, pitches and new business activity.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant experience across investment banking, corporate advisory, M&A;, transaction services, valuations, private equity or a closely related field.
- Solid modelling, valuation and transaction-execution capability, together with the ability to review client materials and junior work to a high standard.
- Commercial judgement, calm organisation under pressure and the maturity to engage credibly with clients and senior stakeholders.
- A degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law or a related discipline.
WHY MOVE
You will be measured on more than technical output. The role provides direct senior and client exposure, responsibility for junior development and a credible path towards becoming a trusted corporate adviser. The package includes a competitive base salary and performance-based bonus, commensurate with experience.
