About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to support a financial systems transformation project, migrating financial data into a data lake and building the foundations for financial reporting within a Microsoft Fabric and Azure environment.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused Data Engineer role for someone who can work independently on a tight timeline and move work forward without needing to be chased.

The Challenge & Opportunity

This role sits inside a tight-timeline financial systems transformation project.

The focus will be on migrating financial data into a data lake and using Fabric to build the data foundations that centralised financial reporting will run on. This work is critical to the success of the broader transformation, and the successful contractor will play a key role in getting it delivered.

This is an opportunity for someone with commercial Fabric experience to own platform and pipeline work end to end in a quick-moving, delivery-focused environment.

Your Role in the Team

You will join a financial systems transformation initiative, helping build the data foundations that centralised financial reporting will run on.

You will be hands-on with Fabric and Azure and comfortable owning data pipeline and platform work end to end. You will have worked with financial modelling or financial reporting data before and understand what "good" looks like when reporting is built off a centralised data source.





You will be able to explain your previous technical delivery clearly, and you will be proactive by nature, someone who moves the work forward rather than waiting to be told what's next.

What You'll Do

- Build and manage data pipelines and data platforms using Fabric and Azure
- Build data foundations in Fabric to support financial reporting
- Work with financial modelling and financial reporting data
- Support reporting built from centralised financial data
- Clearly communicate technical delivery approach and progress to stakeholders

What They’re Looking For

- Commercial, hands-on Fabric experience (essential)
- Data engineering experience building and managing data pipelines and data platforms
- Experience working with financial modelling and financial reporting data
- Experience moving data into a data lake
- Strong project experience, with the ability to clearly explain previous technical delivery
- A proactive, self-starting approach, comfortable working independently

Non-Essentials (But Nice to Have)

- Background supporting finance transformation, reporting modernisation, or data-platform projects involving finance data

Culture & Work Style

This is a 6-month contract, hybrid with 3 days onsite (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)

The environment is delivery-focused and fast-moving, suited to someone who takes ownership, works independently and keeps momentum on a tight timeline.

Please note there is a shutdown between Christmas and New Year.
