Job Purpose
The WHS Manager is responsible for overseeing workplace health and safety across multiple active construction projects, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with legislative requirements, contractual obligations and BY Group's established WHS systems and procedures.

With a hands-on approach to safety management, the role works closely with project and site teams to identify and manage WHS risks, maintain compliance and promote a strong safety culture across project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Actively communicate and promote workplace health and safety information to project teams and provide support in meeting their safety obligations.
- Manage WHS requirements across multiple active construction projects.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with contractual requirements, relevant legislation, standards and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with BY Group's WHS and Integrated Management Systems.
- Complete site-based safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for WHS matters across assigned projects.
- Develop, review and implement WHS policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Provide recommendations to senior management on WHS best practice and opportunities for improvement.
- Coach and educate employees on their WHS responsibilities and support site teams in meeting their obligations.
- Ensure safety and compliance training requirements are met and identify ongoing training requirements.
- Conduct or coordinate incident and accident investigations to determine contributing factors and recommend preventative actions.




- Promote a safe working environment amongst all personnel and lead by example.
- Liaise with auditors and external parties to support company accreditations and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate rehabilitation and return-to-work programs where required.
- Assist project teams with Standard Operating Procedures and ensure documentation remains current.
- Maintain accurate WHS records and documentation through HammerTech.

Qualifications and Competencies

- Minimum five years' experience in a WHS management role within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated WHS experience across commercial, industrial or other large-scale building construction projects.
- Experience managing WHS requirements across multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience in data centre construction will be viewed favourably.
- Solid knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Strong ability to develop, review and implement WHS documentation, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience conducting site safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to support, coach and influence project and site teams.




- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with WHS management software, particularly HammerTech.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of site safety.
