About the role

We have an opportunity for aPlatform Owner to be part of our Application Services team within our Technology and Communication Services Command. The role is responsible for the strategic management and overall success of technology platforms within NSW Police Force with a primary focus on overseeing the lifecycle of the platform, from initial planning and design to ongoing operations and continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for maximising the value delivered by a business-critical application, platform or technology service through effective product ownership, stakeholder engagement and prioritisation of business outcomes.

The position acts as the key link between business stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring product direction, investment decisions and delivery priorities align with organisational objectives, operational requirements and user needs. The role supports the ongoing evolution of digital capabilities by balancing strategic goals, customer requirements, operational risks and technical constraints.

- Owns and manages the product vision, roadmap and backlog for critical applications, platforms or digital services.
- Engages with stakeholders across operational, corporate and technology domains to understand business needs and translate them into prioritised product outcomes.
- Defines and communicates product goals, priorities and success measures aligned with organisational objectives.
- Works collaboratively with delivery teams, architects, developers, business analysts and vendors to guide solution development and delivery.
- Balances customer needs, operational requirements, technical dependencies,



risk considerations and available resources when determining priorities.
- Leads product planning activities, including roadmap development, release planning and backlog refinement.
- Evaluates opportunities for service improvement, modernisation and innovation to maximise value delivered to users and the organisation.
- Ensures product decisions are informed by data, customer insights, performance metrics and business outcomes.
- Supports governance, risk and compliance activities associated with highly sensitive operational and organisational information.
- Monitors product performance, adoption and customer satisfaction to identify improvement opportunities.
- Facilitates collaboration between business and technical stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes and manage competing priorities.
- Contributes to strategic planning and long-term product direction to ensure platforms remain fit for purpose and aligned with future organisational needs.
- Promotes agile and customer-centred ways of working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Supports change adoption by maintaining engagement with customers throughout the product lifecycle.
