Practice Information

An accredited, established group general practice located in Redlynch, Cairns. The practice has a strong focus on family medicine, continuity of care and providing comprehensive primary healthcare to patients across all age groups. The multidisciplinary team includes General Practitioners, Registered Nurses and experienced administrative support staff. Services provided include general and family medicine, chronic disease management and health assessments, preventative health and screening, childhood and adult immunisations, women’s and men’s health, family planning and contraception, antenatal shared care, mental health care, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, paediatrics, skin checks, minor illness and injury management, iron infusions, ear microsuction, travel medicine, workers compensation and occupational health services, allied health referrals and telehealth consultations for eligible patients.

Position Description

An opportunity is available for two General Practitioners to join a well-established practice in the desirable Redlynch area of Cairns. The practice offers a supportive team environment with experienced nursing and administrative support, a broad and diverse patient base, and the opportunity to develop special interests while providing continuity of care. Applications are welcomed from VR and suitably qualified non-VR doctors, including overseas-trained medical practitioners.



Supervision may be available for suitably eligible candidates. Sponsorship opportunities may also be available for the right candidate already residing in Australia.

Qualifications and Experience

- Recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- General Registration with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain appropriate AHPRA registration
- Previous clinical experience in general practice or primary healthcare
- Sound clinical assessment, diagnostic and patient management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Current medical indemnity insurance and CPR certification
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM is desirable but not essential
- Open to applicants with valid authority to work in Australia
- Sponsorship opportunities available for the right candidate already residing in Australia
