We are seeking to establish a pool of Chinese Language Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role

We seek motivated applicants with an in depth understanding of the Western Australian Languages Curriculum and contemporary pedagogical practices to support second language and background language learning. Applicants should have knowledge in teaching the Chinese Language, classroom teaching and high‑level Chinese speaking, reading and writing skills.

The suitable applicants would join a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school gifted and talented approach to the educational programs offered in the school. Suitable applicants will ideally have experience in extending and challenging academically talented students through differentiated in‑class learning and enriching co‑curricular activities.

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
