About the role

As State Asset & Maintenance Manager for QLD, you’ll take ownership of facilities, asset management and maintenance outcomes across our store network. You’ll work closely with operational and State leads, technicians and our facilities management partners to keep stores safe, compliant and operating reliably for our teams and customers. As a key conduit, you’ll balance day-to-day responsiveness with proactive asset planning and continuous improvement. You will also:

- Partner with State, regional and store leaders to resolve priorities, lift service outcomes and improve asset performance.
- Drive performance of the facilities management partner and specialist providers against KPIs, SLAs, budgets and contractual commitments.
- Use asset condition, reliability and maintenance insights to reduce recurring issues and shape lifecycle, renewal and replacement plans.
- Maintain a strong store presence across QLD, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, service quality and the store experience.
- Lead critical maintenance incidents and recovery, ensuring clear communication, timely escalation and effective resolution.
- Partner across Construction, Safety,

Finance, Procurement and Property to support project handovers, compliance, budgets, capital planning and continuous improvement.

About you and your skills

You’re an experienced facilities leader with strong exposure to multi-site retail, operations and/or centre management or similarly complex asset portfolios, and you know how to build trusted relationships across operational and technical teams. Agile and responsive, you communicate clearly, work comfortably across competing priorities and stay focused on practical outcomes that keep stores operating safely and efficiently. You will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Facilities, Building Services, Asset Management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading maintenance and asset management across a large, multi-site portfolio, ideally within food retail or a similarly complex environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and food production equipment.
- Demonstrated capability in asset lifecycle, reliability, condition assessment, root cause analysis and replacement planning.
- Commercial experience managing facilities partners, contractors, budgets, forecasts and OPEX and CAPEX decisions.
- Solid stakeholder leadership, with the ability to use data and operational insight to influence decisions, manage incidents and drive continuous improvement.
