Help young people stay on track, achieve their goals and build a brighter future.
Could you be the person who helps a young person go from thinking about giving up to successfully completing their training and changing their life?
At Skillset, we're passionate about creating life-changing opportunities for people and communities across regional NSW. As part of the Department of Education's Adaptable Hubs Pilot Program and Get Back in the Game (Youth Connect), we're looking for motivated and compassionate professionals to support young people undertaking vocational education and training (VET). Contract until 31/12/2028.
Flexible Employment Options
To best support our participants across the region, we are considering either:

OR
Two Part-Time Motivation Coaches, sharing the workload across the regions to provide localised support to participants.
We are open to discussing arrangements with the right candidates.

As a Motivation Coach, you will work directly with young people who may be facing barriers to education and training. Through a combination of face-to-face mentoring, outreach support and virtual engagement, you'll help participants stay motivated, overcome challenges and successfully complete their VET studies.
This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll coach, mentor, encourage and support participants while working closely with training providers, community organisations and support services.

- Support young people to remain engaged in training and education.
- Identify barriers to participation and connect participants with suitable support services.
- Facilitate individual and group engagement activities.
- Work closely with Registered Training Organisations, trainers and community stakeholders.
- Monitor participant progress and implement early intervention strategies where required.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to program outcomes and reporting.
About You
You are someone who genuinely cares about helping young people succeed and can build trust through positive, supportive relationships.
You'll bring:
- Experience in youth work, education support, community services, case management, mentoring or a related field.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to motivate, encourage and support people from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Certificate III or IV in Community Services, Education Support or a related discipline.
- Existing networks within education, training or community services sectors
Why Join Skillset?
You'll join a values-driven organisation committed to respect, collaboration, integrity, professionalism, community and helping others.
This is your opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people while working as part of a supportive and passionate team.
Applications close on Thursday 28/10/2026 or prior if a suitable applicant is found.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are warmly encouraged to apply.
Only successful applicants will be contacted. Candidates must have Australian Work Rights.
