Due to the continued growth of our business, Austbrokers City State and business partners Austbrokers SPT are looking for a Claims Officer to join our dynamic team in our Wollongong office. Working as part of a team and under the supervision of the department manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients through the claims process and ensuring exceptional service delivery. As a Claims Officer, you will be the key point of contact for clients during their most critical moments, helping them navigate claims to obtain the best possible outcome.

Key responsibilities

- Managing and processing insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement and closure
- Liaising with clients, insurers, loss adjusters and other stakeholders to gather information and expedite claims
- Providing expert guidance to clients on their policy coverage, entitlements and the claims process
- Preparing comprehensive claim documentation and supporting evidence to submit to insurers
- Monitoring claim progress and keeping clients updated on status and outcomes
- Handling disputes and negotiating settlements on behalf of clients
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of all claims' activities and communications
- Identifying opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and streamline claims procedures
- Supporting colleagues across the team to ensure consistent service standards

What we're looking for

- Experience working in insurance claims management is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients




- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple claims simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to client service
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team setting
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the insurance broking industry
