The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced French Polisher to join a well-established and highly regarded commercial joinery and furniture manufacturer in the Canterbury-Bankstown region.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Polisher who takes genuine pride in their work and wants to work on high-end custom furniture and commercial joinery projects.
You'll be working closely with experienced cabinet makers and joiners to deliver finished products to a very high standard, with a strong focus on quality, detail and consistency.
Experienced 4th Year Apprentices and advanced apprentices with solid polishing and finishing experience will also be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
- Timber & veneer preparation - Preparing surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish
- Polishing & finishing - Applying lacquers, stains, oils, polyurethanes and other finishing products
- Spray finishing - Using pressure pots, pot guns, compressed air and spray guns
- Colour matching - Staining, colouring and matching timber and veneer
- Cabinetry finishing - Painting and polishing custom-made furniture and joinery
- Quality control - Inspecting finished products and ensuring consistent colour, sheen and finish
- Rectification work - Repairing imperfections and rectifying finishes where required
- Teamwork - Working closely with cabinet makers, joiners and the wider production team
- Workshop standards - Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can genuinely deliver a premium finish, rather than simply having basic spray-painting experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a French Polisher / Polisher
- Experience within commercial joinery, furniture manufacturing or a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of timber, veneer and finishing techniques
- Proven experience with cabinetry painting and polishing
- Experience using spray guns, pressure pots and pot guns
- Strong colour-matching ability
- Excellent eye for detail and a high standard of workmanship
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a production team
- Good time management and the ability to meet production deadlines
- Reliable, positive and professional attitude
- Good verbal communication and ability to read and understand job requirements

- Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm
