Technical Delivery Lead
We are looking for an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to join a well-established technology team and take ownership of the day-to-day leadership and technical delivery of a software development function.
This role will support a strong pipeline of platform enhancements and priority projects, working closely with the Programme Manager, internal stakeholders and an external development partner.
This is not a hands-on coding role. You will, however, need enough technical depth to confidently lead developers, challenge technical approaches, coordinate delivery and act as an escalation point for complex issues.

The Role You will be responsible for:

- Leading and supporting a small software development team across Australia and the UK.
- Managing resourcing, priorities and allocation of development work.
- Providing technical leadership and acting as an escalation point for development decisions and complex issues.
- Reviewing proposed technical approaches and challenging solutions where appropriate.
- Supporting a strong programme of platform enhancements and priority development initiatives.
- Coordinating work across internal developers and an external Australian development partner.
- Supporting upcoming UI uplift and integration work across the existing platform.
- Working closely with the Programme Manager to ensure projects move effectively from discovery through delivery, release and post-release support.
- Helping guide the development team through upcoming technology and process changes.
- Supporting production issue resolution, technical root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining visibility across development priorities, dependencies, risks and technical debt.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders including PMO,



technology leadership and the broader development function.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience leading the delivery of software development projects.
- Previous experience leading or managing software developers.
- Strong technical background with the ability to confidently guide and challenge a development team.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, integration patterns and microservices.
- Experience within Microsoft development environments, ideally including .NET / ASP.NET Web API.
- Understanding of modern front-end development, ideally including Angular.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server.
- Exposure to messaging or event-driven integration technologies such as RabbitMQ or similar.
- Understanding of cloud and serverless technologies, ideally including AWS Lambda.
- Experience coordinating the resolution of production issues within live software environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum software delivery.
- Experience across software testing, release management, code review and quality assurance practices.
- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills.

The Environment The team supports an established platform with a strong pipeline of enhancement work alongside a number of priority and customer-funded projects.
You will lead a small development team split across Australia and the UK, with a mix of mid-level and senior developers.
There is an experienced Programme Manager already in place, so this role is focused less on traditional project administration and more on leading the development team, managing technical delivery, resourcing work effectively and providing credible technical oversight.
The role is Brisbane based with hybrid working, generally requiring a couple of days in the office and some flexibility around working hours to collaborate with UK-based team members.
