About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (Level 3) for an urgent temporary contract with an Acute Care Team within Mental Health Services in Hobart, TAS. This contract runs from 5 October to 16 December 2026, working shift work across 8:30am to 5:00pm and 1:30pm to 10:00pm rosters. No planned leave will be approved during the contract due to staffing roster requirements.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services. You will provide responsive community-based mental health care to consumers, including triage, comprehensive mental health assessments, assertive short-term care coordination, safety planning, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using a range of modalities and techniques, and transfer of care and discharge planning, in collaboration with consumers, families and friends.

- Pay Rate: $70 - $85 per hour + Super
- Location: Hobart, Tasmania
- Contract Length: 5 October to 16 December 2026
- Work Pattern: Shift work, 8:30am to 5:00pm / 1:30pm to 10:00pm
- No planned leave approvals during the contract period

About You:





- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential)
- Relevant experience in acute or community mental health (essential)
- Working with Vulnerable People registration, Tasmania, or eligibility to apply (essential)
- Available to commit to the full contract period
- Advanced clinical assessment, triage and care coordination skills
- Strong communication, documentation and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
- Eligible to work in Australia
