About the Role:
This is a hands-on technical position suited to a Machine Learning Specialist, AI Researcher, Computer Vision Engineer or PhD-level ML professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and turning research into production-ready technology.
You will work across machine learning, computer vision, 3D geometry and algorithm development, collaborating with software engineers and product teams to develop innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing applications.
The role provides the opportunity to take projects from research and proof-of-concept through to commercial production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and productionise machine learning and AI algorithms for real-world applications.
- Research and evaluate new machine learning techniques and approaches.
- Work across computer vision, 3D geometry, image processing and point-cloud/mesh data.
- Develop, train, evaluate and optimise ML models.
- Apply deep learning techniques including CNNs, transformers, RNNs and other relevant architectures.
- Translate research concepts and experimental models into robust production solutions.
- Improve model accuracy, efficiency, scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product specialists and other technical teams.
- Contribute to the architecture and implementation of ML-enabled products.
- Maintain strong software engineering practices including testing, version control and CI/CD.
- Stay current with developments in AI/ML research and identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- PhD graduates/recent graduates will be considered, particularly those with strong practical or research experience.
- Strong experience in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar ML frameworks.
- Strong understanding of machine learning theory, algorithms and model development.
- Experience with computer vision, 3D geometry, image processing, signal processing or related fields is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to take ML concepts from research/POC through to production.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with C++ and/or CUDA is advantageous.
- Exposure to AWS, GCP or other cloud platforms is advantageous.
