ASR Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Newcastle organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a broad, hands-on finance position with plenty of variety across the day-to-day accounts function. You’ll work closely with the wider business, take ownership of your responsibilities and support a range of finance activities rather than sitting solely within one area.

Your Responsibilities:

- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Processing invoices, payments and receipts
- Managing supplier and customer queries
- Assisting with month-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting payroll and general finance administration where required
- Assisting with reporting and financial data
- Liaising with internal stakeholders across the business
- Working with Excel and internal finance systems
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc requirements

About You:

- Solid experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and reconciliations
- Confidence working with large volumes of financial data
- Strong Excel and finance systems capability




- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
- Good time management and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance team
- Experience assisting with month-end, reporting or payroll would be advantageous
