National Accounts Manager - Industrial Automation

A global industrial automation manufacturer is seeking an experienced National Account Manager in Sydney to develop major customers with operations across Australia.

You’ll build relationships at corporate and senior site level, understand each customer’s wider priorities and identify opportunities that can grow across multiple facilities. Working with local sales and technical teams, you’ll turn account insight into coordinated national activity.

What you’ll do

- Develop strategic relationships with large, multi-site manufacturing customers.
- Engage senior engineering, reliability, procurement and corporate stakeholders.
- Identify longer-term opportunities in reliability, energy efficiency, equipment standardisation and new production lines.
- Become involved early in capital projects and equipment planning to help influence specifications.
- Expand successful work at one site into broader customer programs.
- Coordinate Account Managers, Application Engineers and technical specialists across the national business.
- Build account plans and maintain momentum through longer sales cycles.

What you’ll bring





- Proven experience managing national or strategic accounts in industrial manufacturing.
- Strong relationships with senior stakeholders in complex, multi-site organisations.
- Experience developing substantial opportunities through consultative sales.
- The ability to influence colleagues and coordinate outcomes across different teams.
- Technical credibility in industrial automation, instrumentation, process control, electrical or related industrial technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent sales management experience selling either mechanical or electrical engineered product (minimum 5-10 years).

Experience with major customers in food and beverage, FMCG, packaging, industrial manufacturing would be valuable. You’ll bring the commercial judgement to identify the right chance, engage the right people and involve technical specialists when needed.
