Introduction
Are you passionate about driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement across healthcare services? We are seeking a dedicated Quality & Accreditation Officer to provide organisation-wide advice, coordination, and support in accreditation and quality improvement initiatives.
Nunkuwarrin Yunti is the largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in metropolitan Adelaide. We provide a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to access services, guided by our values of Caring, Community, Communication and Consistency.
In this role, you'll coordinate accreditation readiness, support programs in meeting standards, facilitate internal quality reviews, and lead continuous improvement processes. You will work closely with program and service managers to ensure compliance and implement effective corrective actions.
Description
About the Role
You will:
- Coordinate organisation-wide accreditation preparation and readiness across applicable standards, programs and service locations, including gap analyses, self-assessments, evidence collection, employee preparation, accreditation plans, evidence registers, readiness checklists, assessment schedules and action tracking.
- Interpret assigned accreditation standards and provide practical advice to managers and employees on requirements, evidence and required actions.
- Coordinate development and monitoring of Quality Improvement Plans arising from accreditation findings, audits and quality reviews.
- Prepare quality and accreditation reports, briefings and presentations for management and relevant committees.
- Coordinate accreditation and quality awareness activities, including information sessions, guidance materials and preparation for external assessments.
- Contribute to improvement of practical quality and accreditation systems, tools and work practices.
- Analyse quality and accreditation information and identify relevant trends and recurring issues.
- Develop practical accreditation plans, registers, action trackers, checklists and guidance material, with strong written reporting and documentation skills.
- Facilitate constructive discussions with managers and employees about identified gaps and corrective actions while maintaining appropriate professional objectivity.
- Work effectively under limited direction, manage multiple concurrent accreditation and quality priorities, and exercise sound judgement within the scope and authority of the role.
About You
You bring:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in a relevant discipline and/or significant relevant experience (3+ years) and substantial vocational skills in Quality, Accreditation or a similar field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation systems and standards relevant to health, community or human services, with experience interpreting requirements and translating them into practical actions.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating accreditation preparation, evidence collection, gap analysis and external assessments, including undertaking or facilitating internal quality audits, compliance reviews or readiness assessments.
- Experience supporting teams to address findings, monitor corrective actions and maintain quality improvement, accreditation, evidence or action registers.
- Strong organisational, analytical and stakeholder-engagement skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities,
solve problems and provide practical advice on complex matters within the scope of the role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and relevant organisational systems.
- Demonstrated cultural capability and ability to work respectfully and effectively within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, including a commitment to developing knowledge of Aboriginal health, community control and culturally safe practice.
Skills And Experiences
Desirable:
- Experience with relevant accreditation frameworks such as ASES, RACGP, NSMHS or NSQHS, including working directly with external accreditation or assessment bodies.
- Experience establishing or coordinating Continuous Quality Improvement processes.
- Experience within an Aboriginal Community Controlled, health, community or not-for-profit organisation
