About the Opportunity

Keep our roads clean, safe and well maintained as part of Council’s road maintenance team.

We’re looking for an experienced Street Sweeper Operator to operate Council’s street sweeper and support the team with a range of road, drainage, construction and maintenance works across the LGA.

As a Street Sweeper Operator, you will:

- Safely operate Council’s street sweeper to clean and maintain roads, gutters and drainage areas.
- Plan daily work schedules and select appropriate routes to maximise productivity.
- Attend to and clean spillage incidents as required.
- Carry out daily plant preparation, minor servicing and maintenance of the street sweeper.
- Operate other trucks as required.
- Undertake general labouring duties
- Assist with pothole patching, asphalt works and bituminous sealing.
- Undertake erosion and sediment control and landscaping works.

To be successful, you will have demonstrated experience and competence in the safe operation, servicing and maintenance of a street sweeper, knowledge of hazardous waste disposal procedures, and the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team. You will also hold a current MR Driver Licence (minimum) and Work Health and Safety General Construction Induction (White Card).

This position works Monday to Friday and requires flexibility to accommodate early start and finish times. The successful candidate must be available to begin work as early as 3:00 am on some occasions in accordance with the roster.

Remuneration

$68,506 - $79,323 per annum plus superannuation
