Specification / Sales Representative – Concrete, Flooring & Specialty Coatings

I’m recruiting for an established construction products business that is continuing to grow across Victoria. They are looking for a technically strong Specification / Technical Sales professional to join an experienced Melbourne team, with a focus on concrete, flooring and specialty coatings.

The role covers industrial and commercial resin flooring, concrete repair and protection, concrete admixtures and specialty coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane and MMA resin flooring systems.

It’s a project-focused role where you’ll get involved early, understand what the customer is trying to achieve and work with the right people to get the product specified, selected and ultimately used on site.

The Role

You’ll develop and influence projects across Victoria, working with architects, engineers, builders, developers, contractors and specialist applicators.

A large part of the role will involve:

Identifying projects early and influencing product selection and specifications.

Building and managing a strong specification and project pipeline.

Working with architects, engineers and consultants on technical solutions.

Developing relationships with flooring contractors, applicators, builders and end users.

Providing technical product advice and supporting projects through to completion.

Preparing specifications, technical documentation and product recommendations.

Conducting site visits and providing technical input where required.

Working closely with the Melbourne sales team and wider national business to convert opportunities.

Projects will span industrial, commercial,



healthcare, education, food & beverage, infrastructure and other high-performance environments.

About You

Your current job title is less important than your background and the way you operate.

You could be a Specification Manager, Technical Sales Representative, BDM, Project Manager, Technical Representative or working in another technically focused construction products role.

Experience with resin flooring, concrete repair, concrete admixtures, waterproofing, protective coatings, flooring systems or related construction chemicals will be highly regarded.

I’m particularly interested in someone who is technically credible, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of their own projects and relationships.

You’ll need to be confident having a detailed conversation with an architect or engineer about specification, performance and compliance, and then be just as comfortable talking through the practical application of a system with a contractor or applicator on site.

There is already a solid team in Melbourne, so collaboration is important, but you’ll also need to be comfortable managing your own time, developing opportunities and taking responsibility for your part of the market.
