- Full-time Permanent role
- 6 weeks annual leave, 15 days personal leave
- Salary Details - Base salary + 12% Superannuation (Level 4 - $85,669- $90,746 and Level 5 - $92,733 - $96,775)

City of Darwin is looking for a First Nations Library Officer to lead engagement with First Nations communities across our library services. You'll build relationships, shape programs for all ages, and help ensure our spaces and collections reflect and respect First Nations peoples and cultures.

What you'll do

- Engage with First Nations community members to understand how libraries can better meet their needs.
- Develop and deliver programs for children, youth, adults and seniors, working with stakeholders including the Reconciliation Action Plan Implementation Group.
- Promote and program NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Week and other days of recognition.
- Help expand library collections that tell First Nations stories and keep them accessible to all visitors.
- Contribute to cultural audits of library spaces and collections and help review library procedures to remove barriers to access.
- Provide positive, proactive and responsive customer service, and help position our libraries as inclusive and safe environments.

What you'll bring

Level 4

- Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Indigenous Studies or Library Studies, or at least 3 years' experience delivering programs that improve outcomes for First Nations people.

Level 5

- Minimum Diploma in Community Services, Indigenous Studies or Library Studies,



or at least 5 years' experience delivering programs that improve outcomes for First Nations people.
- Level 5 works closely with the Library Collections Team and coordinates cultural audits of library spaces and collections.

Both levels

- Working with Children Clearance (NT Ochre Card).
- C Class driver's licence.
- Willingness to work flexibly across library locations throughout the municipality.
