WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Enaex Australia is a seeking experienced and safety-focused Shotfirer to join our surface blasting operations across various locations.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor or Area Manager, you’ll take a hands-on role in the safe preparation, loading, tie-in, initiation and completion of surface blasting activities. From interpreting blast plans and preparing the pattern through to firing and conducting post-blast inspections, you’ll play a critical role in delivering safe and successful blast outcomes.

We’re looking for experienced Shotfirers who understand that a successful blast comes down to safety, precision, preparation and teamwork. You’ll confidently coordinate people and equipment, identify changing conditions on the bench and maintain strict compliance with blast plans, procedures and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute surface blasts safely and accurately in accordance with approved blast plans, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, explosives and accessories required for blast loading, tie-in and initiation activities.
- Interpret blast designs, geological information and site conditions to support safe and effective charging and blast execution.
- Supervise blast crews during loading and tie-in activities, establish exclusion zones and maintain security of the blast area.
- Conduct pre-blast and post-blast inspections, initiate blasts and accurately complete all associated records and reports.
- Identify and manage operational risks including misfires, post-blast fume events, hazards and non-conforming conditions.

Ideally you will have;

- A current state-specific licence to conduct shotfiring operations and relevant security and police clearances.
- Current RIIBLA301A Conduct Surface Shotfiring Operations qualification.
- Current RIIBLA201A Support Shotfirer Operations qualification.
- Current risk management, safety investigation and communication competencies relevant to surface blasting operations.
- A current open class manual driver's licence, with a Dangerous Goods Licence highly regarded.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with an unwavering commitment to safety, compliance and Zero Harm.
