The Role

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the procurement function within Auto and General by assisting with the sourcing, tendering, and contract formation process for a range of goods and services. This role works closely with the Senior Procurement Specialist, Account Executives, and Contract Owners to ensure productive and compliant procurement activities.

Position Accountabilities

- Support the Senior Procurement Specialist in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Assist with the preparation of tender documentation, including specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms.
- Manage the administration of tender processes, including advertising, receiving bids, and coordinating evaluation activities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support sourcing decisions.
- Assist Account Executives, and Contract Owners with supplier due diligence activities, including financial analysis and reference checks.
- Support contract negotiations, under the guidance of the Senior Procurement Specialist and/or Account Executives, and Contract Owners.
- Prepare contract summaries and other documentation to support the approval process.
- Coordinate with Account Executives, and Contract Owners contract execution and handover to the Supplier Relationship Specialist for ongoing supplier and contract management governance and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with relevant organisation’s procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the identification and mitigation of potential risks associated with supplier engagements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including Account Executives and Contract Owners.
- Work collaboratively with the Supplier Relationship Specialist and the Supplier Management
- Council to ensure alignment on supplier risk management and contract approvals.

What experience you’ll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management,



or a related field. (CIPS qualification is desirable).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier relationship management, governance, and risk management, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Understanding of sourcing strategies, tendering processes, and contract management principles.
- Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation and regulations, with experience with CPS231 or CPS 230 highly desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
