Description

- $57 per hour + 12% Superannuation

- Fixed Term Part Time – 2 days per week to 30 June 2027

- Based at Nunawading Civic Centre

Whitehorse City Council is looking for a Strategic Finance Analyst who can turn complex data into sharp insight, challenge assumptions, and help guide key decisions that shape services, operations and long-term sustainability.

The role:

In this role, you will provide strategic financial analysis, modelling and advisory support to help the organisation make informed decisions and assess future opportunities. You’ll work across financial, operational and business data to uncover trends, test scenarios, evaluate risks and support strategic initiatives.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, enjoys working across a diverse range of stakeholders and can communicate financial insights in a clear, compelling way for both financial and non-financial audiences. This role will work collaboratively across both Whitehorse City Council and Manningham City Council in providing financial analyst support to a Library Project.

About you:

You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the confidence to influence decisions through evidence-based advice. You are comfortable working with competing priorities, shifting demands and sensitive information.

To be successful, you will also have:

- Experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial analysis or strategic advisory work.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other analytical tools, with exposure to AI an advantage.




- Strong data analysis, reporting and performance monitoring capability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
- Confidence engaging, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working through change environments and supporting continuous improvement.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
