Small Animal Veterinarian | $100k–$140k + Sign-On Bonus | Coastal QLD
Boyne Tannum & Harbour City Veterinary Surgery | Full-time
Finish your consult list, walk the dog on the beach before dinner, and still be home before the sun goes down. That’s an ordinary Tuesday here. We’re looking for a small animal vet to join two established clinics 20 minutes apart on the Central Queensland coast — with a brand-new purpose-built hospital going up in Gladstone right now. Get in early and help shape it.
About Us
Two busy clinics, loyal clients who actually take your advice, and a team that likes each other. No corporate gloss — just valuable medicine, proper backup and colleagues who’ll happily scrub in with you.
- A caseload with real variety — consults, workups, medicine and surgery, not the same three things all week
- Kit you’ll actually use: multiple consult rooms, ultrasound, digital X-ray and dedicated surgery suites
- Nurses who are experienced, switched on, and make your day run smoothly.
- A culture built on collaboration, shared lunches, plenty of laughs and the occasional cupcake challenge
- The time and support to work at your best
The Role
- Full-time – 38 hours a week — with a weekly RDO to actually enjoy the place you live.
- 100% small animal, with a mix of consulting and surgery
- Shared after-hours roster, well compensated and backed by Vetriage so the phone only rings when it truly matters
Who We’re Looking For
You’ve got a few years under your belt, you like doing the job properly, and you’re ready to trade the commute for a coastline.
- At least 2 years in small animal practice.
- Confident clinical skills and the communication to match.
- A positive, team-first attitude.
- Curiosity — the kind of vet who makes the most of what regional practice throws at them.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary package of $100,000-$140,000 + up to $15,000 per year in afterhours earning potential
- $10,000 sign on bonus
- Rural HECS Debt Reduction Scheme eligible – up to $62,000 toward your student debt
- Annual VSB registration paid plus $1,000 per year toward professional memberships
- Generous CE support plus Vet Education membership and access to online resources.
- Paid parental leave above the government allowance.
- Retail, travel and service discounts.
- Real career pathways inside a growing veterinary network
- Clinic tools and support to do your job well and still clock-off on time at the end of the day
Getting You Here
- Generous relocation assistance up to $5000
- Shared accommodation waiting when you land, plus help finding somewhere long-term.
- Visa sponsorship and immigration support for candidates eligible for registration in Queensland.
Why Central Queensland?
Our beautiful part of the country offers warm weather, tight-knit community feeling and affordable cost of living. Beaches, national parks, hiking, camping, fishing and 4WD tracks are all on your doorstep — and Brisbane is close enough for a city weekend whenever you want one.
Not sure yet? Come and have a look. We’ll put the kettle on, show you the clinics, introduce you to the team and let the place speak for itself.
