Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar
Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar
Part time (3 or more days per week) | Essendon, VIC
About the role
Better Together Therapy is looking for a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar to join our team in Essendon.
We’re a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed practice, and we’d love to hear from clinicians interested in working with neurodivergent clients and people who have experienced trauma. We support clients across the lifespan and see many children, adolescents and young adults, so an interest in working with people under 25 is welcome, but not essential.
You’ll have the opportunity to do meaningful clinical work in a team that enjoys working together. We’ll work with you to build a caseload that fits your experience, interests and areas you’d like to develop.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing psychological therapy and developing individualised formulations and treatment plans
- Conducting psychological assessments and diagnostic interviews within your areas of expertise
- Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, schema therapy and EMDR, in line with your training and experience
- Collaborating with colleagues and external providers to support coordinated client care
- Monitoring client progress and adapting treatment as needed
- Assessing and responding to clinical risk when required
- Maintaining clear and timely clinical records
- Participating in supervision, peer consultation and professional development
What we’re looking for
- Current AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist , or eligibility to undertake the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program
- Experience providing evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy
- An interest in neuroaffirming and trauma-informed practice
- Sound clinical reasoning and a thoughtful approach to complex presentations
- Warm communication skills and the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds
- A commitment to ethical practice and ongoing learning
- The ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a team
Experience in private practice, community mental health or allied health settings is welcome, but not essential.
What we offer
We want Better Together Therapy to be a place where you feel supported, enjoy the people you work with and have room to grow. We take our clinical work seriously, but we also like to have fun together.
- A genuinely supportive team. Our psychologists and speech pathologists share ideas, help each other through challenging days and make time for team lunches and the occasional laugh.
- Supervision and someone to talk things through with. We offer regular clinical supervision and peer consultation. Clinical Psychology Registrars can access supervision from a Board approved supervisor within the clinic.
- Strong admin support. Our admin team helps with enquiries, bookings, billing and the day-to-day details, so you can focus on your clinical work.
- A caseload that suits you. We’ll work with you to match clients to your experience and interests, and support you to develop in areas you’re excited about.
- Room to learn and grow. We offer in-house professional development and welcome the ideas and expertise you bring to the team.
- A chance to share your ideas. If you enjoy writing or creating content, you can contribute to our growing social media presence and educational resources. This is entirely optional.
- Flexibility and competitive remuneration. We offer part time arrangements that work around your life outside the clinic.
