Nepean Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Food Services Assistant to join our hospitality team on a casual basis.

Working location: Penrith, Western Sydney.

About us

Nepean Private Hospital is a modern 109‑bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

Responsibilities

- Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
- Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
- Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
- Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
- Provide high standard of customer service
- Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
- Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

Qualifications & requirements

- Authority to work in Australia
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Experience in aged care or hospital environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Commitment to service excellence.
- Strong communication and customer skills
- Work well independently and within a team
