About the prospect A global industrial automation manufacturer is seeking an Account Manager to grow its presence in Western Australia’s resources sector.
This is primarily an account management role with a business development element. You’ll build relationships with mining companies, EPCs and engineering consultancies, getting involved early to understand upcoming projects and help position the company’s equipment before specifications and tenders are finalised.
Much of your work will be with Perth-based customers, with occasional mine-site visits to understand how the equipment is used in practice.
What you’ll do
- Develop relationships with existing and prospective resources customers.
- Build connections with engineers, project teams and other stakeholders involved in equipment selection.
- Identify future projects and upgrades, including opportunities beyond the immediate sales pipeline.
- Understand customer operations and technical requirements.
- Work closely with the Resources Sales Manager to develop accounts and pursue project opportunities.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years experience in account management, business development or technical sales.
- Exposure to mining, EPCs, engineering consultancies or industrial project environments.
- Ideally,
a qualification in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering. Relevant technical sales experience will also be considered.
- The ability to build lasting relationships and communicate confidently with engineers and commercial stakeholders.
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to develop your product knowledge.
- Open to Mechanical or Electrical engineering graduates as well. Seeking a career path in the industry, on the commercial, customer delivery side.
Experience with industrial automation, process equipment, valves, instrumentation, hydraulics, electrical products or other technical equipment could provide a strong foundation.We are open to someone earlier in their sales career who has the aptitude to grow into the role. What’s on offer
