Ballarat Steiner School is seeking applications for the position of Class Teacher.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing in 2027. The successful candidate may be asked to commence in Term 4 to prepare for the role.

We are located on a beautiful rural site just fifteen minutes from Ballarat Central and five minutes from the boutique village of Buninyong. We have been established for more than twenty years and have over a hundred students from Early Childhood to Class 6.

This position is ideal for a teacher who is capable, artistic, flexible, and is a life-long learner. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated teacher who connects strongly with the philosophy and values of Steiner education.

Essential criteria

- VIT registration.
- Qualifications in Steiner education and/ or a willingness to commit to career development in Steiner education.




- Ability to develop rapport with all students and families.
- Excellent classroom management skills founded in restorative practices and positive behaviour support.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, differentiating, delivering, and assessing curriculum.
- Music, visual arts, and handcraft skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Capacity and willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities including camps, excursions, fairs, and festivals.
