Maltese Aged Care Association (SA) Inc (MACASA) is seeking an experienced and passionate Chair of the Board to guide our organisation through an exciting period of growth and transformation.

After many years of dedicated leadership, our current Chair is retiring, creating an opportunity for a new leader to help shape the future of a respected community organisation that provides culturally responsive aged care services across South Australia.

MACASA delivers services in three key areas:

- Food production and meal delivery
- Community transport services
- Respite and community support programs

We have recently relocated to modern facilities in Ridleyton, featuring a significantly expanded commercial kitchen and community event space. These new capabilities are enabling us to develop innovative service offerings, strengthen community engagement, and grow sustainable revenue streams through new commercial initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chair who is motivated by community impact and enjoys helping organisations evolve, innovate, and thrive.

About the Role

As Chair, you will provide strategic leadership to the Board and work closely with fellow Directors and management to ensure effective governance, organisational sustainability, and long-term success.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading and facilitating monthly Board meetings
- Providing governance oversight and strategic direction
- Supporting the implementation of organisational growth and innovation initiatives
- Fostering a collaborative and effective Board culture
- Working with Directors and management to identify new opportunities for services and revenue generation
- Ensuring compliance with governance, financial, and regulatory obligations




- Acting as an ambassador for the organisation within the community

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:
- Previous Board Chair, Director, or senior governance experience
- A demonstrated ability to guide organisational growth and strategic change
- Experience in business development, commercial enterprise, or revenue generation
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills
- Financial oversight and risk management experience
- An interest in community services, aged care, health, or the not-for-profit sector
- Experience leading organisations through periods of growth, innovation, or transformation
- A collaborative leadership style that brings people together around a shared vision

Experience in aged care, community services, social enterprise, or government-funded programs such as CHSP, Support at Home, or My Aged Care will be highly regarded, though not essential. What You'll Gain

Time Commitment
- Monthly Board meetings held in person at Ridleyton
- Meetings are conducted on Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, including dinner
- Additional involvement as required for strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and governance activities
